I think "Every Time You Go Away" is the only song on that list I don't actively hate.

My thoughts exactly Tom.

It sure sucked.
Here's some stuff from 1985 that didn't suck.
NRBQ- She Sings, They Play (w/Skeeter Davis)
Replacements - Tim
Neil Young - Old Ways
Tom Petty - Southern Accents (for some reason, I never liked him much until this one)
I'm not finding much else in my collection from that year. yikes.

The 1st Georgia Satellites record?

Yep, the first Sats record was the only thing to keep me from losing it that year. It was an aural oasis in a desert of blandness (dear God, what have I been smokin' to type that...) I agree - '85 was probably the the peak of bad pop. The charts didn't get much better the last half of the decade, but they definitely didn't get any worse.

Hard to argue with that list.

You're not forgetting The Beat Farmers, The Long Ryders, Jason & the Scorchers or Nick Lowe are you?
