As a kid of maybe 10 or 12 years old, my folks took me to see this big damn boat. My Uncle Cecil was with us and he actually served on the USS North Carolina. I was really impressed by how HUGE the chains for the anchor (and the anchor itself!) were. I guess it manifested itself later in my life in song.

That's interesting insight into your song. I'm glad you took that trip with Uncle Cecil. It gave me, a total can't carry a tune fool, a song I could actually sing along to when I was drunk in college.
