how stupid is this?

Rolling Stone list top 100 drummers...

Have we talked about this before? What is it?... a damn athletic event?
Jesus! How about the drummers with the most emotion, the most FEEL, the most
SOUL!? Where's the list for most dependable drummers?...the guys who are most like clockwork? Neil Peart #1? Why?...'cause he has the most cymbals? This list is SHIT!
I'll go with Keith Moon #1..how 'bout that? I cried like hell when he died! I'd come home from high school every day and play to Who records. Next on the list I'd have ANY respect for would be #2 Bonham who I'd also play to...and then #55, Ringo. Charlie's at 61, I'm sure he cries himself to sleep at night about that...but the real crime is that Al Jackson is at 97! Y'all some dumb sumbitches witch y'all's ignunt-ass LISTS!! It's MUSIC! Dear Terry, The ignunts need lists cuz they can't decide for themselves by listening, but lists like this dont really help....
Or like Dan Baird says : if you don't hear it you aint listening !

Just like all of RS's other lists: they name the drummers for the first 100 bands they could think of off of the top of their heads and call them the "Top 100". They must be the top 100... after all, they do play in bands that the RS writers have heard of!

I'm a Keith Moon fan myself. I also think John Entwistle was the most awesome bass player ever!! With that being said... Mitch Mitchell deserves better that 23!!! 23?!? I always thought Mitch was a more subdued Moon. Agree with you on Al Jackson too. The MG's were just bad-ass.

No Bev Bevan (Move, ELO)? No Zig Modeliste (Meters)? No Mick Avory (Kinks)? No Dennis Thompson (MC-5)? No Mickey Waller (Rod Stewart)? No Thom Mooney (Nazz)? None of the Motown drummers? No Clyde Stubblefield or Jabo Starks?

Boooooooooogus. But you know that...

The REO Speedwagon drummer cracked the top 100 :) They probably just threw him on there cause the band is so great. Speakin' of The Band, maybe Levon belongs on there ahead of Alan Gratzer.

Wow, no Paul Thompson (Roxy Music)? Yeah, so much for 'lists.'

Terry, i agree with you- Keith Moon should be number one on this list. most of these drummers are not contenders- except for Bill Bruford, John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and the ones Peter mentioned- hey, how about the young kid who was on the 1st couple of Santana records- he really smoked 'em on Soul Sacrifice in the Woodstock movie!!
