dumbest idea ever

The Woods used to have this big time New York manager. We had us one of them fancy meetings in Manhattan on 54th St and he laid one of them fancy New York manager ideas on us, “You guys should change you name to CAROLINA”. There was a three way collective nose scrunch from the hicks from Raleigh. We kinda looked at each other and said “huh?” “Well, think about it”, he says. And I’m thinking “No, I won’t…I’d rather watch “Cabin Boy” again. Waterboarding sounds less excruciating than to think about that”. (Of course, I didn’t know what waterboarding was back then, but if I did I would’a said it!) Credit to him he was trying, this after all was during the time when state and city names for bands was popular, Kansas, Boston, Alabama, Chicago, etc. He DID get us the deal with Twin Tone, which added up to about a hill’a beans. Wonder if we’d have sold more records if we’d have named ourselves CAROLINA! Hmmm….

Carolina.... now THERE is the group that should have an album called "National Champions"! Of course yall might have to play a gig or three in SOUTH Carolina... since you're using the name and all.
