Killin'm in the ATL

After soundcheck at Smith's Old Bar, we ate and headed back to the room. Dan was on his way to our (Roscoe's and mine) room when he heard 7 shots up the street. Fifteen minutes later there was a chopper overhead with a spotlight shining on our hotel parking lot, obviously looking for the shooter. Soon it was time to go to the club and we drove by the strip bar where the killing occured and I saw a sheet over the body in front of the entrance to the place. After the show we were headed back to the hotel and as we passed the strip bar it was business as usual, like nothing ever happened. I guess they're used to it. As far as the gig, it went as well as we could have hoped for since it had been almost a year since our last show and considering the amount of new songs we performed. Rocked pretty good. Spotted in the packed crowd were Mike Mills (REM), Keith Christopher's whole family, Toby Marriott(Steve's boy) and one Rick Richards.

I saw Eddie Money perform tonight at the Ham & Yam Festival in Smithfield, NC (it was free). Lesson... learn what town you're playing in. He kept making comments during the show about Springfield. If you've ever been to Smithfield you sure as hell know you're not in Springfield.

I don't know why we're talking about that here, but since you brought it up, what was funny to me was he would alternate between saying Smithfield and Springfield.

That was just a friendly reminder to TA to keep track of which town he's at as he heads out on this current tour. Seein' as he hasn't completely put his drankin' days behind him I thought the this might be a good reminder so he doesn't end up lost up there on stage, confused where he is like Eddie. That's not to take anything away from Eddie, he did a respectable job and he's got a few chestnuts in there, though he don't quite rock like TA and the boys.
