the latest...

I know, I know, your panties are all crumpled and twisted in a wad wanting to know the latest on the OakTeam record and when you can start looking for it on your local store shelves. My apologies, I’m old, I type a lot slower these days! Well, if you really must know, the hard drive containing all the tracks was lost in the mail on its way to Roscoe’s place in NYC!...FO’ REAL! I haven’t heard where it ended up or if it ever made it to anyone who knew what it was, but another was sent a week later and in fact DID make it to Roscoe in one piece. He seems to like the thing and will start the mixing at his NYC home. At some point in July it’ll be ready for the big speakers at his Cowboy Technical Services studio and we hope to go up and make the final “Hell yeah’s!” to what he does with the tracks. He always gets great drum sounds so I am especially looking forward to hearing those. We recorded them in a bigger room than before so they should sound better from the git-go. The plan is still to have fewer songs and use the remaining recorded tracks for the following record. So “More Smooth Jazz and Sweet Sweet Jams” will look (and sound) something like this:
TOO MUCH INFORMATION
ENABLER
GAMBLED AND LOST
RIDIN’ AROUND
SPEND THE NIGHT
318
TIME FOR YOU TO GO
NERVOUS AROUND PRETTY GIRLS
I’M YOUR RADIO
NOT TURNING AROUND
SWEETNESS

No word yet on if another version of the record, mixed by a mail carrier on Long Island, comes out under another band name.

Should be good. The last album, as much as I like it, was rather flat (even tinny)sounding!!

hence the enlistment of Roscoe!

Never want to pile on- but, while the wit in the MATERIAL of 'National Champions' is beyond reproach- there WAS significantly more depth and aural 'space' in the overall sound quality of your preceding studio album- when played side by side, it was apparent, I have to agree.
