weekend too short!

It was another great weekend at the beach with our friends Barry and Blair, this time wif-out kids! We packed as much fun as possible into the day and a half we had together. We had Cap'n Dave haulin' us around on his boat Friday afternoon and Saturday, it was awesome! He and his wife Cindy took us over to Beaufort, just across from Shackleford Banks where the wild horses live. An acoustic act that Barry knew (being a booking agent and all) was playing over at the Dock House, where he and I slipped away and got a couple of $9 shots of Patron. Ouch!!

Of course, Beaufort is the home of Clawson's, where The Woodpeckers first played "Battleship Chains", on the night of the morning that I wrote it.
At night, we drank, watched the Olympics on mute and howled at my Shirley Q. Liquor cassette tapes on a very ghetto sound reinforcement set-up.

The wacky world of rock...within five minutes of reading this I heard The Wildhearts' version of Battleship Chains. For those interested go here and click on the 'Latest show' link. It's about 5:00 in.
