somewhere over the..
I took this pic on the last day of our travels through Spain. Fortune smiled upon us most of the time, as well, if not better than could be expected. I will continue to post stupid ass/cool photos as I am transcribing the month's worth of notes that I took. Please be patient, remember how long the boat blog took..and that was only a week's worth of notes!
Javi
Hey Javi, I sent you this pic but I didn't hear back so I assume you didn't get it. So here it is for all the world to see. Thanks to you guys for all your help and especially to Jose for turning his drums around for me!

Back in the US!
Hell yeah! Great to be back after a near perfect tour of Europe. Yes! TV in English! Washcloths to wash your face with! TarHeel basketball! No more bumpy plane rides! Waiters that understand us and give us yogurt when we ask for yogurt and not a grilled ham sandwich! Something to eat besides cheese and bread, cheese and bread, cheese and freaking bread! Screaming kids wanting all your money! Bills! Crappy wine! Going to work painting houses! Hey wait a minute! Ahhhh! I wanna go back!!
As you can see, I'm starting to go through my pictures (This was my look in Palma de Mallorca). I've now deleted them down to a paltry 760 pictures.
Dah-veed!
We already miss you!!

whew!
Oh my God! We did it! We actually did it! We did all of the shows, and at full tilt also! We gave everything we had every night. We had no choice, the audiences pulled it out of us. Even after traveling 14 hours to get to Gijon from Sweden we somehow pulled a rabbit out of our hats and played a great show. We are deeply sorry about the decision of the owner of the Hard(ly)Rock Cafe in Stockholm to pull the plug with just an hour to go, we were as disappointed as anyone there. But other than that all of the gigs were spectacular! ..and we owe it all to our adoring fans, our wives and the promoters that worked so hard. I´m looking very forward to getting home and getting to work on transcribing my notes from the tour and YES the pictures also, all 700 of them! And my wife is right in saying that I will not rest until this is done. Thank you everyone, especially Roscoe, for making it all come together so beautifully!

Holy Crap 'ola!
Jeez! We have been kickin' ass and taking names (for our mailing list!) every night over here and tonight and tomorrow night we are actually getting a little time off. Winterbach, Germany was just insane! They were packed in like sardines and we really let'm have it too! I think Roscoe has some pics up on his blog of the great sit down meal we had before the show. They REALLY treated us right!
Only a week to go, we're at the three week mark and nerves are a bit frazzeled, lots of involuntary emotions flying around. But we are all getting along still splendidly (it's easy when the shows are this good!). We just take our frustrations out on hangers-ons (is that even a word?). Dan ran some fans outta the dressing room last night in German "ROUSE!", which means SCRAM!
We love our babysitter Dahv-eed still and he's beginning to feel like family, like part of the band. It's funny too cause he really looks a lot like Rick Richards!
Keith is hanging in there and playing his ass off. Dan is still coughing. I'm a bit homesick for my family and Roscoe is has some family conserns of his own back home. But when all is said and done I think this is definately gonna go down as our most successful trip over here to date. Can't wait to show you some of the pictures!
PS-Happy Birthday Peter Holsapple!

wednesday off
We were mucho sado to have to leave Mallorca, what a slice of heaven that place is! It´s just a small island in the Mediterranean that is covered with palm trees... unbelievable weather, just gorgeous! It was another great gig full of nuckleheads and people that knew the words to all of the songs (still can´t believe that! Hell! WE don´t even know all the words!).
After getting up early and catching a flight back to the España mainland Keith and I had our eyes on the prize back in Madrid. We knew where the grocery store was and we knew what kind of wine we wanted. "Tinto" from the Rioja region goes for about $4 over here and it is awesome! We got our bottles, stopped by the incredible vegetarian fast food joint (where an old man grabbed my balls..falafel balls, that is..a whole ´nother long story)and went back to the breakfast nook to dine. We laughed our asses off for the next 2 hours just talking, drinking and eating. We made plans to record his solo record and most of the talk centered around that. Dan and Roscoe both have been sick so we were giving them time to rest. Needless to say, one bottle apiece wasn´t enough and the second one was too much. Some things never change.
I finally got to talk to my wife and kids after a few Emails of mine never made it home. Ya hear that Google! You´re on notice!
Glad to hear my Heels righted their ship and against whom they did it!
Adios! Off to Valencia..

The Original Artists
That damn Keith Christopher is a nut. He´s played with everybody from an all black funk band in Florida to Humble Pie in England to Billy Joe Shaver in Nashville. Half the fun of being out with The Yayhoos is sitting in the back of the van with him and listening to all the stories he has to tell. On the way back to Madrid yesterday he was telling me about doing a record for K-Tel Records. They had hired them to do a record of all of the current hits at the time. All of the songs were "done by the original artists!"..well...that was the name of the band, The Original Artists! That´s how they were trying to get around it. I don´t think the publishing companies were amused. They hunted them down, shut down the operation and Keith says they barely got out of the studio with their instruments before the authorities came there to arrest them.

Viva España!!
I think it was Phil Lee that said "Nobody wants to pay to see a 50 year old man do much of anything." Well, either Spain didn´t get the memo or they just don´t know how old we are because they are showing up in droves to see these old guys rock. We are laying the wood to their asses pretty good too! And sales of the merch has been unbelievable!
So far so good, we love our driver/babysitter David (pronounced Dah-veed) and the promoters have been very generous with foods and wines! Roscoe has a few pics up on his blog now (click on the right of this page "roscoe's blog") and of course, I´ll have a full report when I return home.
I don´t wanna hear nuthin´ about that Carolina/State game..just go to hell! It´s a good thing that I wasn´t at home watching that one or I wouldá thrown the couch out in the yard, slammed every door and hit golf balls up the street in anger. Fire Roy!
Thoughts and prayers to David Enloe and family. He lost his Mom this week and we all loved her. She helped raise me and did an awesome job with her three sons.
